Kidnappers neutralised, ransom and ammunition recovered in joint operation in Ogwashi-Uku in Delta State (video)

Two kidnappers were k!lled in a joint operation between the military personnel from 63 Brigade Asaba, Divisional Police Headquarters Ogwashi-Uku, Anti-Kidnapping Squad Asaba, and Edo-Ogwashi Security.

 

 

 

Part of ransom paid by family of victims and ammunition were also recovered from the kidnappers’ hideout during the raid on Wednesday, July 30, in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.

 

 

 

 

This was disclosed by human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu.

 

 

 

He shared a video documenting the aftermath of the operation. The video showed the bodies of the kidnappers who were neautralised and the items recovered.

 

 

Harrison wrote: “NDI Ogwashi-Uku, we achieved a significant breakthrough at Edo-Ogwashi-Uku, which is worth sharing. IT’S IMPORTANT WE THANK THOSE RISKING THEIR LIVES FOR SAFETY OF ALL.

 

“In joint operation with the military personnel from 63 Brigade Asaba, Divisional Police Headquarters Ogwashi-Uku, Anti-Kidnapping Squad Asaba, and Edo-Ogwashi Security, we successfully recovered millions of naira from kidnappers, one AK-47 rifle, three loaded AK-47 magazines, and 16 rounds of live ammunition.

 

“During the operation, two kidnappers were eliminated, while others fled the scene with bullet injuries. These kidnappers were responsible for abducting two female students of Delta State Polytechnic Ogwashi-Uku at Azagba-Ogwashi behind Rain Oil Gas plant and an estate supervisor who was kidnapped at Ubulu-Okiti and shot.

 

“The success of this operation was facilitated by the TRACKER from the Delta State Government House Asaba.

 

“We will continue to respond effectively to emergencies and apprehend kidnappers if we receive credible information.

 

“I extend my gratitude to Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori , Executive Governor of Delta State for his unwavering support in ensuring we have the necessary resources.

 

“Special thanks to the Military 63 Brigade Garrison Commander, Military head heading Oshimili North, and military head heading Aniocha South for their prompt response.

 

“I also appreciate the DPO Ogwashi-Uku for being readily available to assist our people.

 

“My gratitude goes to my team, particularly Intel Ejemizu Chidozie Peters , for being vigilant and prepared to join me at any time.”
