Kalu hails Ikpeazu on security, others

A former Governor of Abia State and Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, on Friday paid a New Year visit to the Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, at his Umuobiakwa residence in Obingwa Local Government Area.

A statement by Eze Chikamnayo, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy in state indicated that the Senate chief whip praised Ikpeazu for the security and peace that was witnessed throughout the Christmas period and during the New Year festivities in the state.

He added that Kalu attributed the feat to exceptional ingenuity of the governor in galvanising human and material resources for the common good.

The statement read in part, “The Senate Chief Whip observed that as he drove to Obingwa, he was elated by the quality roads that crisscrossed the landscape together with other numerous achievements in the Area of SME development, youth empowerment, sports, agriculture   education amongst others.

Responding, Ikpeazu reminded his visitor that the essence of leadership was service to the people, reiterating that his style of leadership “is devoid of bitterness and unnecessary bickering”.
