Justice Sector: Foundation of Our Achievements — Gov. Mbah Hails Enugu AG, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, SAN

Governor celebrates Attorney General’s elevation, says law remains cornerstone of his administration’s success

In a glowing tribute to excellence and service, Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has applauded the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, SAN, describing the justice sector as the central pillar upon which his administration’s achievements are built.

Speaking at the weekend during a grand state reception held in honour of Dr. Udeh to mark his elevation to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Governor Mbah lauded the Attorney General’s diligence, integrity, and professionalism, noting that his legal guidance has been pivotal to the smooth execution of government policies and investor-friendly reforms.

“Today, for me, is not just a celebration of personal success, but proof that hard work pays,” Mbah stated. “Everything we have achieved as a government is possible because of the hardworking and resilient team we have. The Honourable Attorney General stands at the epicenter of it all. We never move faster than the law, and he ensures we always stay on the right path.”

Highlighting the crucial role of the justice ministry in facilitating investment inflows and strengthening governance, the governor commended Dr. Udeh’s efficiency in ensuring that contracts and legal frameworks are meticulously reviewed to protect the state’s interests.

“If we have attracted investors and investments are flowing in, it is because the Attorney General and his team work tirelessly to ensure legal clarity and due diligence,” he added. “We owe him a huge gratitude. This is not just a personal success but a collective triumph that should inspire us all.”

In his response, Dr. Udeh expressed deep appreciation to Governor Mbah, members of the state executive council, the judiciary, and the people of Enugu State for their unwavering support and encouragement. He dedicated his new rank to the service of the state and humanity, pledging to continue upholding justice and good governance.

“This elevation is a call to greater responsibility and service,” Dr. Udeh said. “With this enhanced rank come enhanced expectations, and I assure you that I will deliver. To the youth, I say—there is no impossibility to your rise. Stay focused, consistent, and committed to your dreams.”

The event also featured a symbolic presentation by the Enugu East Senatorial Zone Council of Traditional Rulers, led by the traditional ruler of Nike, His Majesty, Igwe Julius Nnaji (Odezuluigbo II), who described Governor Mbah’s leadership as visionary and transformative.

“Your Excellency, we are proud of your courage, vision, and speed in transforming Enugu State,” Igwe Nnaji said. “You have restored confidence in governance and given our people renewed hope. We, the custodians of culture and tradition, stand firmly with you.”

The royal fathers also presented an Award of Excellence for Citizenship Empowerment to Governor Mbah, recognizing his innovative leadership and commitment to development across all sectors — from education and infrastructure to agriculture, justice reform, and youth empowerment.

The star-studded event drew dignitaries from across the legal, political, and traditional spheres, all united in celebrating a man whose legal brilliance continues to strengthen the very fabric of governance in Enugu State.
