Following the alleged kidnap and rape of a 12-year-old girl by a traditional ruler in Ondo State, the father of the victim on Friday demanded that justice be served.

The father, Mr. Ajayi Fulani, appealed to government and security agencies to ensure justice in the case involving the Baale of Laagba community in Ondo East Local Council Area of Ondo State.

According to Fulani, his daughter (name withheld) was abducted and defiled by the traditional head of the community, Chief Adeniyi Ifedayo.

The victim’s father narrated that the monarch was able to perpetrate the dastardly act due to the nature of his job as a security guard, which he said always kept him from home.

He said, “I noticed her absence from home on Sunday, May 25, 2025, and I began searching for her immediately. The Baale kidnapped my daughter and kept her in his house in the community where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.”

The distraught father lamented that when alarm was raised over the disappearance of his daughter, the Baale dropped her at Cathedral junction in Akure, the state capital, where her sister, Yemisi, was able to connect with her.

“She was first taken to the General Hospital in Ondo but was referred to the Mother and Child Hospital at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH), Ondo, where she was admitted and treated for six days,” he added.
