JUST IN: Benue State Declares June 18 Public Holiday Ahead of President Tinubu’s Visit

The Benue State Government has declared Wednesday, June 18, 2025, a public holiday to mark the official visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the state.

According to UGAMA TV, the President decided to adjust his schedule to visit Benue following a wave of recent violent attacks that have claimed numerous lives. His visit is aimed at sympathizing with the government and people of the state.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Serumun Deborah Aber, the President will undertake a one-day condolence visit. The public holiday, the statement noted, is to allow residents the opportunity to receive the President warmly.

However, the directive does not apply to workers in essential sectors such as healthcare, security services, and banking.

The government encouraged citizens across Benue to turn out in large numbers to welcome President Tinubu and his delegation, describing the visit as both symbolic and significant.
