Iran warns UAE residents to leave areas near major ports in Abu Dhabi and Dubai

Iran has issued a warning urging residents and workers in parts of the United Arab Emirates to immediately leave areas surrounding key port facilities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Fujairah.

According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency, people living or working near several major ports, including Jebel Ali Port in Dubai, Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi and Port of Fujairah — should evacuate the surrounding areas immediately.

The agency claimed the locations could become targets because of the alleged presence of United States military forces operating within or close to civilian infrastructure.

“These areas have become legitimate targets due to the presence and concealment of US military forces among civilian installations and will be targeted in the coming hours,” the report stated.

The warning comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel following a wave of military exchanges that have raised fears of a wider regional conflict. The crisis intensified after Israel launched strikes on Iranian facilities linked to its military and nuclear infrastructure, prompting Tehran to vow retaliation against Israeli and allied interests in the region.

The United States, a key security partner of the United Arab Emirates, maintains military assets across several Gulf states as part of its long-standing regional security presence. Iranian officials have repeatedly accused Washington of supporting Israeli military operations and have warned that facilities hosting US forces could be considered targets if the confrontation expands.

Authorities in the UAE have not publicly confirmed any evacuation order linked to the Iranian warning, and there has been no official statement from Emirati officials regarding the claim. However, the development has heightened concerns about the safety of critical shipping and energy infrastructure in the Gulf, particularly around some of the world’s busiest commercial ports.
