IPOB: South South didn’t comply with sit-at-home order because they lack guts – Biafra group

The Biafra Nations League, BNL, has given reasons the sit-at-home order declared by Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, recorded no compliance in the South-South states.

Kanu, alongside the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, had ordered a sit-at-home on May 31 to mark Biafra Day.

The directive recorded total compliance in some Southern states while in others partial compliance was witnessed.

However, the Deputy National Leader of BNL and Head of Operations, BBs Media, Ebuta Takon said that many people in the South-South who believe in the struggle do not have the guts to express themselves like the Igbo people.

Takon said those who feel they are not part of Biafra, especially in some parts of Rivers State, Bayelsa, and part of Delta State, lacked knowledge and are being sponsored to overshadow those in the struggle.

In a statement he forwarded to UGAMATV Takon said: “They feel so because they lack true knowledge of whom they are. I don’t blame them, even a sitting governor is denying his Igbo identity to claim South South because he wants to benefit from the politics of South South,” he said.

Takon also commended members of BNL for hoisting the Biafra flags in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State on May 30.

He called on all Biafran supporters in the South South to identify with BNL.

“BNL members will continue to carry the region along despite lack of understanding among ethnic groups in the defunct Eastern region,” he said.
