The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has dismissed claims by the Nigeria Police Force that one of its camps was dismantled in Anambra State.
The police had earlier reported that a camp allegedly located in Aguluezechukwu, Aguata Local Government Area, belonged to the Eastern Security Network (ESN), IPOB’s armed wing.
However, in a statement issued on Thursday, IPOB’s spokesperson, Comrade Emma Powerful, said the group operates no such camps in Anambra or anywhere else.
“We have no camp for police to dismantle in Anambra or anywhere else,” the statement read.
The secessionist group argued that security agencies have repeatedly failed to provide credible evidence linking such camps to IPOB. It further challenged the police to make public or present in court verifiable proof to substantiate their claims.
According to IPOB, the group is even prepared to sponsor independent investigators to visit the South-East and verify the truth.
“Let it be known: IPOB remains whiter than white. No amount of propaganda can taint our cause, which is rooted in justice, self-determination, and truth,” Emma Powerful added.
The rebuttal comes amid heightened security operations in the South-East, where law enforcement agencies have frequently linked violent attacks and camps to IPOB and its security outfit, a claim the group has consistently denied.
