
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of new Commissioners of Police to five states—Borno, Cross River, Ondo, Osun, and Jigawa—in a move aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency and leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.
Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that the new postings, which take immediate effect, form part of the IGP’s broader strategy to promote professionalism and strengthen leadership at key command levels across the country.
“The postings are in line with the IGP’s vision to ensure professional leadership in critical areas and boost the Force’s operational effectiveness,” Adejobi stated.
The newly appointed Commissioners of Police are as follows:
CP Naziru D. Abdulmajid – Borno State Command
CP Bello Rasheed Afegbua – Cross River State Command
CP Dahiru Mohammed – Jigawa State Command
CP Adebowale Lawal – Ondo State Command
CP Ibrahim Gotan – Osun State Command
In addition, two senior officers have been assigned to strategic departments:
CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo – Department of Training and Development, Force Headquarters
CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin – CP General Investigation, FCID Annex, Gombe State
The IGP has charged all the newly deployed officers to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and provide effective leadership in their new roles, ensuring that their areas are secured from criminal activities.
