As the month of November begins, the Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has extended warm greetings and heartfelt wishes to the good people of Awgu, urging them to embrace the new month with renewed hope, unity, and commitment to community development.
In his goodwill message conveyed through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, Hon. Okolo expressed deep appreciation to Ndi Awgu for their unwavering support and cooperation with his administration. He also paid glowing tribute to the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, whom he described as “a God-sent leader, redefining governance through exceptional leadership, visionary policies, and radical infrastructure transformation across the state.”
Hon. Okolo commended Governor Mbah’s strides in grassroots inclusiveness and development, noting that his people-oriented approach has inspired local councils to perform beyond expectations. He specifically thanked the Governor for commissioning and inspecting over 50 landmark projects executed by his administration during his first year in office — a historic milestone that underscored Awgu’s rapid transformation under purposeful leadership.
It will be recalled that on October 7 and 8, 2025, Governor Mbah, ably represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government, Rural Development, and Chieftaincy Matters, Deacon Okey Ogbodo, embarked on a two-day commissioning and inspection tour of completed and ongoing projects in Awgu LGA — projects that have since been widely celebrated as evidence of functional governance at the grassroots.
Reassuring the people of Awgu of his continued commitment, Hon. Okolo pledged to sustain the tempo of development and remain steadfast in complementing Governor Mbah’s vision of excellence. He affirmed that his administration would ensure that every community in Awgu continues to feel the direct impact of good governance, improved infrastructure, and inclusive development.
“We will not relent. Our mission is to consolidate on Governor Mbah’s transformational agenda and ensure that no part of Awgu is left behind. Together, we will keep building the Awgu of our dreams,” Hon. Okolo concluded.
