HON. TOBY HEADLINES THE DEBATE ON 2020 10.5TRILLION NAIRA AMENDMENT BILL PRESENTED BY mr. PRESIDENT

The Deputy Minority Leader House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu on the 28th May, 2020 clearly made immense point known as the House Debate on the 2020 10.5 Trillion Naira Amendment Bill presented by the President.

He stressed that it is very important that some basic facts are clearly stated first of which is that the $25 benchmark in the proposal is nothing to write home about as it is obvious that the cost of oil production in Nigeria ranges from $28 – $33/barrel. Hon. Toby who graduated from the University of Lagos with LLB Law in the year 2000 and was called to bar in 2001 wondered if the FG will be funding loss?

Rt. Hon. Toby warns that anything that will occasion the parliament to approve a benchmark where Nigeria will sustain loss is totally unacceptable.

He went further to categorically remind the House that Nigerian’s are not interested in the packages of food you want to give them rather every single Nigerian want to be productive.

Again, he established the need to interrogate the priority that have been established with this budget asking How does it address research that the parliament have approved by way of resolution, how does it address the health institution that is in a serious malady?
