Gaspart: The season would be over had Real Madrid been top when football stopped

Former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart believes that LaLiga would have found a way to end the season based on current standings had Real Madrid been leading when COVID-19 hit.

Barcelona top the LaLiga Santander table and Spanish football is doing what it can to return and finish the season on the pitch.

“If Real Madrid had been leading before the lockdown then LaLiga [Santander] would have ended,” Gaspart said on ‘Tertulia del 10 del Barca’.

Reports of Neymar making a return to the Camp Nou have surrounded the club since he left for Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 and Gaspart supports the idea.
“I’d love to see Neymar at Barcelona,” he added.
“He can still contribute, I’d like him to play for Barcelona.
“But I don’t know the small print.”
