A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is facing an unprecedented level of opposition ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Rufai Oseni, the former presidential aspirant said Tinubu’s path to re-election would depend on meeting the constitutional requirement of securing at least 25 percent of the votes in no fewer than 25 states.
Momodu argued that the President no longer enjoys the level of support he received from the North during the 2023 election, adding that public dissatisfaction has grown across the country.
According to him, opposition to Tinubu now extends beyond rival parties to include members of his own political party.
He also claimed that Tinubu’s home state of Osun rejected him in the last election and predicted that the state would do so again in 2027.
Momodu maintained that while Tinubu could still be re-elected if he meets the constitutional requirements, the President is currently facing widespread political resistance.
