Godfather III actor Anthony Guidera di£s aged 65 after heart ‘suddenly stopped beating’

Anthony Guidera, best known for his role in The Godfather Part III, has di£d aged 65, weeks after collapsing.

 

The actor was rushed to the hospital on May 11, when his heart suddenly stopped beating while at home in Southern California.

 

His wife, Valarie, confirmed to TMZ that after three weeks, he was taken off life support and brought home for a natural d£ath.

 

Guidera’s cause of d£ath, on Saturday, June 6, is still unknown, as doctors have no idea what caused the initial collapse.

Valarie shared a post on Facebook, announcing his death and saying she was “heartbroken to say goodbye”.

 

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Anthony,” she wrote.

 

“We are devastated and trying to breathe through the impossible, taking each moment as it comes.

 

“Please hold this eternal light in your hearts and our family in your prayers.”

 

Previously, she had praised her husband’s spirit, writing on Father’s Day how he was “beyond a father” to their son, Nick.

 

She added he was “a true influencer of dreams and an elevated foundation for love and the higher path.”

 

His breakthrough role came in 1990 as a bodyguard, also named Anthony, in the third and final Godfather film.

 

He went on to star as Robbie in 1995’s Species, a sci-fi film that earned him the MTV movie award for best kiss with co-star Natasha Henstridge.

 

Throughout the late 90s he became a familiar face on screen, appearing in The Rock, The Postma, and Bruce Willis blockbuster Armageddon.

 

He also worked consistently in TV, landing roles in shows such as Renegade, Baywatch, Angel,and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
