Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke reveals she suffered embarrassing injury while filming wild sex scene for racy series

Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has revealed she suffered an embarrassing injury while filming a wild s3x scene for her latest r@cy series. The actress said she broke a rib during an intense sequence for the new Peacock series Ponies, where she plays undercover agent Bea.

It marks a return to the kind of provocative roles she became famous for as Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, where she shared scenes with Jason Momoa’s character. Clarke and Momoa reunited this week, fifteen years after the fantasy drama first aired.

Clarke, 39, said: “I broke a rib that day… three men, in a number of hours.” She described how filming required repeated takes, adding: “Just keep bringing it. I’m going to sit on this thing, you’re going to bring them in, we’re going to pretend to have s3x.”

She also recalled an awkward encounter with her doctor when she had to explain the injury. “S3x! Times three!” she joked.

In the series, Clarke plays the wife of a CIA agent during the Cold War who dies under mysterious circumstances. Her character travels to Russia to continue his work as an agent and uncover the truth, which involves seducing a high-level KGB operative and developing feelings for another asset.

Clarke has since built a successful film career, appearing in Terminator Genisys and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Despite her association with fantasy, the British actress has said she plans to avoid returning to dragon-related roles. “You’re highly unlikely to see me get on a dragon, or even in the same frame as a dragon, ever again,” she once said.

She was awarded an MBE last year for founding SameYou, a charity supporting brain injury recovery, after surviving a life-threatening brain haemorrhage in 2011.
