Israel launched a new series of strikes against Iran on Monday, as Tehran threatened retaliatory attacks on critical infrastructure across the Middle East, intensifying a conflict that has contributed to the worst global energy crisis in decades.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated via X that it had carried out “a widespread wave of attacks” targeting Iranian government infrastructure in Tehran.
Fatih Birol reported that at least 40 energy facilities across oil- and gas-producing nations have been severely or critically damaged as the war enters its fourth week.
In Tehran, multiple explosions were reported, while the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia confirmed that they had intercepted incoming missiles and drones as the conflict expanded across the region.
In response, Iran has launched missiles and drones targeting Israel, Gulf energy installations, and even United States diplomatic facilities.
