Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), and activist politician Omoyele Sowore have been released from Kuje Prison after fulfilling their bail conditions.
Kanu’s brother, Prince Emmanuel, was also released on Monday, along with others arrested during the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest in Abuja. Sowore had been arrested by the police while attending Nnamdi Kanu’s trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The detainees were arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Kuje Area Council, which granted them bail on Friday.
In a video released on Monday, Sowore, Ejimakor, Prince Emmanuel, and the others were seen leaving the prison with their belongings while singing a solidarity song.
Ejimakor reportedly collapsed at the prison and was rushed to the Kuje Prison clinic for medical attention.
