Four states, FCT report 50 new COVID-19 cases, one death

Four states and the Federal Capital Territory and have recorded 50 new COVID-19 infections, according to figures released on Tuesday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

UGAMATV also reports one new COVID-19 related death.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Tuesday.

According to the NCDC, the 50 new cases were recorded from the FCT and four other states.

Lagos recorded the highest figures for new infections by reporting 31 new cases, Yobe – 11, FCT – 4, Ogun–3, while Rivers reported one new infection.

According to the health agency, the 50 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 167,909.

The health agency also noted that 164,400 COVID-19 patients have so far recovered and have been discharged in the country.

The NCDC also reported one new COVID-19 related death, noting that the toll from the virus is now 2,122.

It said that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
