Four Killed As Gunmen Attack Anti-Narcotics Agency, NDLEA Office In Ebonyi

An operative of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) was, on Tuesday, killed by unidentified gunmen.


The deceased person died during an attack by gunmen on the Ebonyi State command headquarters of the NDLEA, along Enugu-Abakaliki Road.


The incident occurred between 2 am and 4 am on Tuesday.


It was learnt that three other persons were killed during the shoot-out that ensued. One of them was an inmate at the NDLEA rehabilitation centre.


Two of the assailants were also reportedly killed.


Confirming the incident to Leadership Newspaper, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Loveth Odah, said “one of the officers and a patient” were killed.


The assailants were repelled by the military and the police, she added.


She also noted that two of the assailants were killed while some others escaped with gunshot injuries.


Listed the items recovered from the assailants, the spokesperson said they include 140 rounds of K2 ammunition, 36 rounds of GPMG live ammunition, 30 rounds of Ak-47 rounds of ammunition, a 4 Runner jeep, motorcycles, military and police uniforms, and charms.
