At least four people are feared dead following a canoe accident on the Fajul River in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on September 10 when a canoe paddled by 35-year-old Nankpak Danladi capsized while ferrying four passengers to Wase.
“All four passengers, whose identities are yet to be confirmed, drowned in the river,” a local source reported.
In response, security operatives in Langtang South mobilised local divers for a search-and-rescue operation. As of press time, no bodies had been recovered, and the search was still ongoing.
