Former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu has met with his successor, former Governor T.A. Orji, as both politicians move to unite ahead of the 2027 governorship race with a shared objective of dislodging incumbent Governor Alex Otti.

 

 

 

In a video circulating online, the two former governors were seen together in Umuahia alongside supporters, where they pledged their loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and chanted “on your mandate,” a signature political slogan associated with pro-Tinubu mobilisation.

 

 

Political observers note that the development comes amid rising tensions between Otti and leading opposition figures, including Kalu, who has repeatedly vowed to oppose the governor’s re-election bid in 2027.
