Five states, FCT report 45 new COVID-19 cases

Five states and the Federal Capital Territory reported 45 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, according to figures released on Sunday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The agency did not report any additional COVID-19 related death.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Sunday.

Anambra recorded the highest figures for new infections with 18 cases, followed by FCT – 15, Lagos – 9, Bauchi – 1, Kano – 1, and Rivers – 1.

The health agency said the 45 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 213,532.

However, 206,486 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.

With no additional COVID-19 related death reported, the death toll from the virus remains 2,973, NCDC said.

It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
