Fish out pastors’ killers, Ortom tells police, others

BENUE State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has directed security agencies, local government chairman and other stakeholders in the state to apprehend the killers of two pastors murdered in Ochoro community, Kindhisha Local Government Area.

The two pastors were reportedly killed by suspected Bonta militias last week on their way to Oju Local Government Area of the state to receive medical attention.

It was gathered that the pastors identified as Moses Ijoko and Emmanuel Alele were killed and their motorcycles taken away.

Recall that 12 soldiers who were on peace mission within Bonta community were gruesomely killed on April 1st, this year by the Bonta militias.

Also, some militias from Bonta, in July this year, allegedly invaded Ochoro community, attacked the residents and held in captive a four-year-old boy, who was later released.

Irked by the killing of the two men of God, the governor condemned the murder of the pastors and described the incident as unacceptable.

In a press statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, a copy made available to journalists on Sunday, Ortom urged the Chairman of Konshisha Local Government and other stakeholders in the area to ensure that the killers and their sponsors were apprehended to face justice.

“The governor warns that those jeopardising the state government’s efforts to end the crisis between Konshisha and Oju that won’t escape justice, no matter who they are,” part of the statement read.
