Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has announced a ₦1 billion donation through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) to support families displaced by the recent deadly attack in Benue State.
The First Lady made the announcement during a condolence visit to the Benue State Government House on Tuesday, where she met with officials and relatives of victims of the June massacre in Yelewata community, which claimed over 100 lives in a suspected herders’ attack.
Speaking during the visit, Mrs. Tinubu said the intervention aligns with RHI’s mission to restore hope, rebuild lives, and support vulnerable households across Nigeria.
“On behalf of the governing council of the Renewed Hope Initiative, we are making a donation of ₦1 billion to support displaced families to regain stability, return to their sources of livelihood, and build better lives,” she stated.
The donation is aimed at helping victims of the violence rebuild their homes, restart their livelihoods, and recover from the trauma caused by the brutal attack.
