Fire Guts UBA Branch on Lagos Island as Staff Escape Through Windows

A branch of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) on Lagos Island is currently on fire, causing panic among staff and residents.

Details about the cause of the outbreak are still sketchy, but a video circulating on social media shows some bank employees attempting to jump from the upper floors to escape the flames.

The footage captures workers desperately trying to get out through the windows as thick smoke billows from the building.

As of the time of filing this report, emergency services have yet to issue an official statement. However, UGAMA TV observed that efforts to bring the fire under control are ongoing.
