The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has paid glowing tribute to fathers across Awgu, Enugu State, and Nigeria on the occasion of Father’s Day, describing them as the indispensable foundation of stable families and the driving force behind a prosperous society.

In a goodwill message released on Sunday through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, the Council Chairman praised fathers for their unwavering sacrifices, steadfast leadership, and commitment to raising responsible children and building peaceful homes.

He described fathers as the silent architects of family success whose resilience, discipline, and sense of responsibility continue to shape future generations and strengthen the moral fabric of society.

“Fathers are the guardians of our homes and the builders of our future. Their sacrifices often go unnoticed, yet their influence remains invaluable in nurturing responsible families and prosperous communities,” the Chairman stated.

Hon. Okolo urged fathers to remain committed to their God-given responsibilities by promoting unity, discipline, integrity, and love within their homes, stressing that strong families remain the bedrock of sustainable national development.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to people-centered governance, the Awgu Council boss assured residents that his government would continue to implement policies and programmes aimed at improving family welfare, strengthening community institutions, and accelerating grassroots development across the local government area.

The Chairman also commended the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, for what he described as exemplary, visionary, and fatherly leadership that has transformed the developmental landscape of the state.

According to him, Governor Mbah’s bold investments in infrastructure, education, security, healthcare, and the hospitality sector have repositioned Enugu as one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing investment destinations while creating an enabling environment for effective governance and sustainable development at the grassroots.

Hon. Okolo noted that the Governor’s unwavering commitment to excellence continues to inspire local government administrations to deliver impactful projects and improve the quality of life of residents across the state.

As the Father’s Day celebration continued, the Council Chairman offered prayers for God’s continued protection, wisdom, sound health, and long life for all fathers, expressing confidence that they would remain steadfast in their noble responsibility of nurturing families and contributing to the growth of society.

He reaffirmed that the invaluable sacrifices, dedication, and enduring legacy of fathers will always be cherished and appreciated as communities continue to rely on their strength, guidance, and unwavering commitment to building a better future for generations yet unborn.
