Family calls Sanwo-Olu, Fayemi’s attention to kidnap survivor’s plight

Family member and former member, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Segun Erinle, has called on Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu; and his Ekiti State counterpart, Kayode Fayemi, to come to the aid of Feyi Orisan, who was kidnapped by the gunmen that also killed her father, Sesan Orisan.

Erinle, who said the unemployed lady, a Masters’ degree student, was released after four nights in the kidnappers’ den, noted that she is a citizen of the two states by birth.

“Such assistance should aid the girl to recover from the horror of seeing her father brutally killed, heal the wound of memories of the torture in the den; and keep the family of her late father going.”

The brother-in-law to the late Orisan, who spoke at a press conference in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, called for synergy among the chairmen of the adjoining Moba, Ido/Osi and Ilejemeje local governments in Ekiti State, the traditional rulers in the local governments and the police formations in the three council areas to find a lasting solutions to the killings and kidnappings in the area.

The slain Sesan Orisan, a Lagosian, was in Ekiti State with his family members to attend a social event, but was killed by gunmen while driving along Ayetoro (Ido Osi Council) Ewu Ekiti (Ilejemeje) Road on Friday, August 6.

The gunmen later kidnapped his wife, Tope; and daughter, Feyi, who were in the vehicle with the man. The two victims were released at Ikun Ekiti (Moba Council area) on Tuesday night after spending four nights in the kidnappers’ den.

The former lawmaker, who said that what happened was a disgrace to the state, reiterated that the kidnappers had been using same route to carry out their activities, and that it should be easier to apprehend them. “All hands must be on deck to get lasting solution to the problem,” he enthused.
