Executive, legislature, judiciary interface’ll enhance citizens’ life quality – Fayemi

The Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, said on Friday that constant interface among the executive, legislature and judiciary on state affairs and how to meet people’s needs would enhance the people’s quality of life and as well physical development.

Fayemi spoke in Ado Ekiti, the state capital while signing into law six bills including the state Legislative (Fund Management) Bill, the Judiciary (Fund Management) Bill and the Creation of Local Council Development Areas (Amendment) Bill.

Other bills signed into law by the governor are the Office of the Attorney General Bill; Consumers Protection Bill; and Bill on Economic Development Council.

The governor said that the signing into law of the bills bordering on legislature and judiciary, which essentially provided for the self-management of funds by the two arms, “will codify existing arrangements between the three arms of government on revenue allocation.”

Consequently, Fayemi constituted a seven-member LCDA implementation committee headed by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Olawale Fapohunda, saddled with the responsibility of overseeing the process for the establishment of the LCDAS.
