EX-NNPC CHIEF ENGINEER ARIBA, DIES

A former Chief Engineer at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Sir Olufemi Ariba, is dead.

According to a statement on Sunday, Ariba, a two-time Chairman of the Isheri Mainland Club, Magodo, Lagos State, passed away at the age 67.

The statement said he was survived by his wife, Rhoda; children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, and many loved ones.

It quoted the family as saying that Ariba would be buried on September 3, 2020, at Ijebu-Isonyin, Ogun State, immediately after the funeral service at the Emmanuel Anglican Church, Isonyin.

The statement added, “Sir Ariba had his secondary education at St. John’s College, Kaduna, before proceeding to the Haileybury School of Mines in Ontario, Canada for his BSc. in Mining Technology. He then went ahead to study MSc. in Gas Engineering at Salford University in Manchester, the United Kingdom.”
