Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested an ex-convict, Segun Ogundeji, for impersonation.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Sunday, said the suspect was arrested on Wednesday while clad in army camouflage.
He said the suspect had demanded the release of a suspect in a police cell at the Sango-Ota divisional headquarters.
According to the PPRO, on getting to the station, Ogundeji met an air force officer, one Cpl John Temitope, who accused the suspect of not giving him his official compliment, which led to an argument between the duo.
“It was the quarrel that led the DPO Sango, CSP Godwin Idehai, to interrogate them. It was during the interrogation that the police discovered that Segun Ogundeji was not a military man.
“It was also discovered that he had once been convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction for impersonation,” the police spokesman added.
