Enugu State’s growing reputation as a national hub for innovation and technology-driven governance has received fresh acclaim as Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has been nominated for the prestigious “Digital Governor of the Year” award.
The nomination, announced by the organisers of the Nigeria Information Technology Merit Awards (NITMA), follows Enugu State’s unprecedented progress in digital transformation, human capital development, and public service modernization under Governor Mbah’s administration.
Over the past months, the Mbah-led government has rolled out a series of ambitious technology reforms, including large-scale digital skills training for civil servants, capacity-building programmes for young people, and the digitisation of operations across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. These initiatives, officials say, are part of a broader plan to position Enugu as a regional leader in digital innovation, productivity, and economic competitiveness.
According to Hon. Arinze Chilo-Offiah, Special Adviser to the Governor on MSMEs and Digital Economy and Director-General of the Enugu SME Center, the nomination is a testament to the administration’s unwavering commitment to equipping Ndi Enugu with globally relevant digital skills and building a future-ready workforce.
He called on the public to support Governor Mbah by voting via the official NITMA link, noting that every vote helps amplify the state’s remarkable strides in digital governance and encourages the expansion of more people-centered technology programmes.
The winner of the award will be selected through public voting and assessment by industry experts.
