Enugu West Unity Forum Unveils Awgu Chapter Executives, Declares Total Support for Governor Mbah’s Second Term Bid

Grassroots Mobilization in Motion as Forum Champions Continuity of Transformation Across Enugu State

In a spirited display of grassroots political mobilization and strategic vision, the Enugu West Unity Forum, Awgu Chapter, officially inaugurated its ward executives across the 11 wards and four Development Centres of Awgu Local Government Area on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

The event, held at the LGA headquarters, was not only a celebration of leadership emergence at the grassroots but a bold declaration of total support for the second-term ambition of the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

The day began with a solemn opening prayer led by Mrs. Akachukwu Precious, the Forum’s Women Leader, and a traditional presentation of kola nut by Mr. Emeka Okomma, symbolizing unity, peace, and cultural consciousness.

In his welcome address, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, Awgu LGA Coordinator and Public Relations Officer of the Forum, applauded the attendees for their unwavering commitment and highlighted the core objectives of the Unity Forum: fostering solidarity among Enugu West constituents and building sustainable political structures to advance Governor Mbah’s transformational agenda.

“Governor Peter Mbah’s impact is visible, measurable, and people-centered,” Hon. Chukwu noted. “From Enugu Air, a first-of-its-kind initiative in Southeast Nigeria, to the revolutionary establishment of smart schools, the revamp of the Enugu International Conference Centre, and digitization of government processes—he has redefined governance in our state.”

He reaffirmed the Forum’s resolute support for Governor Mbah’s second term, emphasizing that leadership continuity is critical for sustaining the remarkable progress already underway.

Delivering a fiery and inspiring keynote, Arc. Jake Udeh, President of Enugu West Unity Forum, described the Mbah administration as “visionary, strategic, and unparalleled in performance.”

“The time has come to consolidate on this transformation,” Arc. Udeh declared. “There is no vacancy in the Lion Building come 2027. Enugu West Unity Forum stands with Dr. Peter Mbah for a second term—because the results speak for themselves.”

Arc. Udeh also rallied the new executives to become ambassadors of the Forum’s mission and Governor Mbah’s legacy in their respective wards and communities.

The formal inauguration and oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Engineer Okechukwu Eneokwe, the Forum’s Mobilization Chairman, who charged the leaders to be visible agents of grassroots mobilization and public enlightenment.

Echoing the same spirit, Deputy Coordinator, Mr. Aganigbo Gabriel, underscored the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and strategic engagement, assuring the ward executives of the Forum’s full institutional backing.

Speaking on behalf of the Awgu Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Roseline Udeh, the Leader of Awgu Legislative Council, urged the new leaders to remain humble, focused, and dedicated to service delivery, noting that the future of democracy lies in active local participation.

“Governor Mbah has laid the foundation. It is our duty to build the blocks from the grassroots upward,” she said.

In her vote of thanks, Mrs. Akachukwu Precious commended all women leaders across the wards and encouraged them to remain organized and engaged in the campaign for the governor’s re-election, calling it “a collective movement that every progressive mind must support.”

The Secretary of the Forum, Mr. Okafor Charles, in his closing remarks, congratulated the new executives and acknowledged the tireless efforts of members and leaders who ensured the success of the event.

“Let the energy of today not end today. Let it power every meeting, every outreach, and every door-to-door campaign from now till 2027,” he urged.
