Also in attendance were Igwe Lawrence Obi and Igwe Ignatius Okpala, Vice Chairman of the Achi Traditional Council, both of whom strongly endorsed the governor’s reelection bid in 2027.

Hon. Rita Chimaobi Ihemeje, the chief host of the rally and the Forum’s Woman Leader, emphasized in her opening address that the Enugu West Unity Forum is a non-partisan organization. She outlined its mission to support leaders from Enugu West and promote a vision of progressive governance and development throughout Enugu State.

Deputy President Prince Afam Agana reiterated the Forum’s goals, highlighting its inclusive structure—comprising state assembly members, local government chairmen, senators, and political party representatives from Enugu West. He stressed the Forum’s primary objective: to unify stakeholders and support Governor Mbah’s reelection, citing his achievements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

Hon. Osita Eze, the representative of Oji River in the Enugu State House of Assembly, was represented at the rally by Chief Ekene Nwoke. In his message, he urged the people of Enugu West to support the governor’s second-term bid and commended the Forum for its organizational efforts.

He emphasized that ongoing projects under Governor Mbah, such as smart schools, the Enugu Airwaves initiative, and ultra-modern bus terminals, require continuity and should not be disrupted by a change in administration. He further applauded the governor for appointing Enugu West natives like Prof. Ndubueze Mbah as Commissioner for Education and Dr. Obi Ozor as Commissioner for Transport.

Chief Jane Ene, Deputy Leader of the Enugu State House of Assembly and former Women Leader of the Enugu West Senatorial Zone, also urged continued support for the governor, citing the developmental progress being recorded across the state.

In his closing remarks, Pastor Onwuka encouraged all attendees to remain united and committed to the reelection cause.

In an exclusive interview with UGAMA TV, Deputy President Prince Afam stated that the main purpose of the rally was to enlighten women on the need to come out and support Governor Peter Mbah’s reelection.
