In a show of unwavering support, the Enugu West Council Chairmen, led by Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, have officially endorsed the re-election bid of His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for the upcoming 2027 elections. This declaration came during a heartfelt gathering at the Awgu local government council headquarters, coinciding with a familiarization visit by Her Excellency Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, the First Lady of Enugu, State on Saturday 14th June 2025.

The event marked a significant moment as local government chairmen from across the Enugu West senatorial district came together to express their collective gratitude and commitment to the governor’s transformative leadership. Hon. Okolo, in his welcoming address, emphasized the profound impact of Governor Mbah’s administration, describing it as one characterized by “disruptive innovation and project-oriented governance.”

“Your Excellency,” Hon. Okolo said, addressing Governor Mbah, “on behalf of myself and every local government area chairman here from Enugu West, we extend a warm welcome to Awgu. The litany of people gathered here today is a testament to our deep appreciation for you and our dear governor, whom we proudly refer to as a God-sent leader. We are extremely grateful for the remarkable work you have done in Enugu State, particularly in Enugu West. This place is your home; it became your home in 2023, and we will ensure that it remains your home in 2027.”

The gathering was not just a political endorsement but a heartfelt celebration of community, unity, and shared vision. It drew a diverse crowd, including prominent dignitaries, stakeholders, youth and women groups, all expressing their solidarity and support for Governor Mbah’s leadership.

Her Excellency Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah’s familiarization tour aims to deepen connections between the government and the people of the Enugu West Senatorial Zone, fostering goodwill and inclusivity. The First Lady’s initiative is expected to enhance understanding of the community’s needs and aspirations, paving the way for more effective governance.

As the event unfolded, the atmosphere was charged with optimism and hope for the future. The Enugu West Council Chairmen’s declaration of support is a clear indication of their commitment to continuing the progress initiated under Governor Mbah’s administration.

As the community rallies behind their leaders, the message is clear: the people of Enugu West are ready to stand together for a brighter future under the innovative leadership of Governor Mbah.
