Hon. Johnson Chukwuobasi, the Enugu state house of assembly member representing Awgu South constituency on the 10^th of December distributed bags of rice and cash gift to several women, youths of his constituency.

The Honorable who thanked his people for gathering to receive the gifts said he was doing it to show his appreciation to them for their support towards him and for helping him lead them well.

Speaking with UGAMATV, the benevolent leader who is known for his philanthropy especially towards the poverty alleviation of his constituents said “we are gathered to say thank you to the party leadership for supporting us all these years in the state assembly and making it possible for us to win the nomination and coming to represent them in the first place

“this is something my family and I do every year to say thank you to them and say merry Christmas.

When asked about his motivation for doing all his work he said “I always try to give back to people the much I can. In July this year we had our women and youth empowerment program where we dispensed about 3.5 million naira to people in trade and in business to support them.

“My wife and I had a meeting with the widows in the beginning of the year where we also supported them with the little we could afford and this year it is also going to take place because we also have their bags of rice in stock too.

Talking about his plans to curb drug abuse in his local government, he stated “I will also have a meeting with the youths so that we can sensitize them against drug abuse and its effect on their lives and future”.

Thanking the state governor for setting the pace for what they do, he said “Ugwuanyi have taught us how to give, and how to reach out to people in the most possible way we can and that is what we are doing”.
