After lying fallow for several years, the  famous Enugu Sports Club  modern Olympic standard  Swimming pool has been refurbished and inugurated.

The sport facility which was abandoned many years ago, by successive administrations of the club, was revitalized by it’s  incumbent leadership  with a view to boosting the revenue base of the organization.

Speaking yesterday  during the official commissioning of the  facility, at the Club’s Swimming arena, newly elected Executive Chairman of the club, Barrister Henry Nwosu, stated that  the project which gupped about 4 millon naira to fix was aimed at enhancing  the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the Association.

He said: “permit me to say that the current regime of the Enugu Sports Club centres on transformation leadership, and this is the pillar which paddlers the direction of the present Executive which the honourable members of this great club casted their vote for.

The Chairman, reiterated his commitment in making transparency and prudent management of resources his watch word” adding that the Club under his watch, would ensure boosting of internally generated revenue for self sustainable, and inclusive  leadership.

According to Nwosu, who is just barely sixty days in office, his administration is going to equally leverage on existing structures for  speedy growth.

“Today marks about 60 days of assuming office as the Executive Chairman of the Club, and this is in the light of promises made during our campaign for the office we hold today.

  The Chairman hinted that under the 60 days of assumption of office, his administration has recorded some remarkable feats, which included, packaging of retreat programme for all members of the Club Executive, with a view to making them shed off their political leaning and key into

“our vision welfare based club administration.
He added that during the six 60 days period under review, a reorientation and training programme was put together for Staff of the Club to enable them key into into his vision and improve Service delivery. Computerzation of data base of Club’s membership and accountability 

“The pool will  be open for club members and decent Citizens of our Society for a token fee, in order to generate income for it’s maintainance and sustainance. 

Nwosu, noted further  that “the pool project shall add value to the swimming section of this great Club as it becomes functional and active.
The event was graced by top government officials and Captains of Industries who are  also  members of the Club.
