ENUGU SME CENTER FINALISES WORLD-CLASS SELECTION PROCESS FOR VOCATIONAL SKILLS TRAINING — TRAINING NOW UNDERWAY

In line with the visionary drive of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, to build a highly skilled, future-ready workforce in Enugu State, the Enugu SME Center and Office of Digital Economy, in partnership with ITF-NECA and C-STEMP, have concluded a world-class candidate assessment process for the 2025 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Program.

This training program—focused on Plumbing Installation & Maintenance and Painting & Decoration—aims to empower young people across Enugu State with practical, employable skills that align with modern market demands.

Following a rigorous multi-phase selection process, which included application screening, aptitude tests, interviews, and practical evaluations, only 100 exceptional candidates were selected from a competitive pool of applicants. This latest cohort brings the total number of TVET trainees supported by the Enugu SME Center to over 700 in the last 18 months.

Training has now commenced at designated locations, with trainees receiving hands-on instruction, industry-recognized certifications, and structured pathways to employment or entrepreneurship. The program is fully sponsored, ensuring equitable access for committed, qualified residents of Enugu State.

The Enugu SME Center remains committed to delivering on Governor Mbah’s promise to eliminate human capital poverty, equip young people with 21st-century skills, and position Enugu as a talent and innovation hub.

Further updates and success stories will be shared as training progresses.
