In human capital development as he sponsors Century records’ artist, ‘Musicbox’, in his just released hit single, ABACHA.

Recall, that the Lawmaker had in recent times, sponsored the two editions of Enugu Got talent show, a music talent show that birthed the growth of several Enugu-based up and coming artists.

The Show, was aimed at providing a platform for the Upcoming artist, both Enugu based and otherwise, to express their thoughts as well as eplore their talents.

The talent hunt show had started with auditions, which was organized by UGAMATV, in collaboration with Century records.

Twenty-six raw and untapped talents were selected from the Myraid of artists that trooped into the Venue of the auditions, Toscana hotels Enugu.

Legendary artists and producers like, Mr. Raw, Paulino, J-money Musicbox’, as well as Don-colnel had served in the capacity of Judges, adequately scrutinizing the contestants by their Lyrics, presentation, performance and strict adherence to the Organizer’s rules.

They immediately after the auditions began, Mentoring, rebranding and Grooming session with seasoned artists from all over the country, in preparation for the final battle.

The Grand Finale had followed suit on the 31st of December, 2020 at Awgu Civic center, Ugbonabo Enugu state, where talented artists battled for the Winning Price.

The Winner, First runner-up, Second Runner-up took home, whooping prices of #10million, #5million and #2million respectively, this includes, Promotion and mentoring packages.

‘MUSICBOX’, who was a judge in the show, however, has gotten an extension of the lawmaker’s graciousness and affinity towards young talents as he solely sponsors his Single, “Abacha’.

Musicbox’ is an Enugu-based artist born on the July of 1983.  Professionally, he started making music in 2006 with a group known as JD Rhymes.

So far, he had worked with the likes of Dekumzy, Stromrex, the defunct girl-group ‘Desperate Chicks, Slowdog and Sparta E.

However, in 2009, He went Solo.

He makes diverse genres of music such as Urban Gospel, Trap music, hip hop amongst others.

On April 2021, he dropped a hit single, ABACHA, featuring Slowdog.

In an exclusive interview with UGAMATV, Musicbox’ told us that he feels extremely fulfilled for releasing this hit song.

ABACHA, he said, is an exposé to the renowned Igbo delicacy, the African salad. A dish which is highly revered by the Igbo tribe and beyond.

Though a bit different from his usual genre of music, he stated that he gave his best to this music, which turned out to be a big hit.

Speaking on his working relationship with Slowdog, Musicbox said, “Slowdog is a friend all the way from Uni. We both attended the same tertiary institution. So when, I came up with this track, I informed him and he indicated interest. He subsequently came into the studio to voice his part. We have a cordial working relationship and he is an exceptional artist.”

Not just mine, he had previously sponsored the Enugu Got talent show, which was organized by UGAMATV and Century records. Subsequently, he has sponsored several young talented artists and their projects. I too am not exempted.”

‘Having been in the music industry since 2006 till date, I have learnt tenacity, hardwork, consistency and patience. These has helped me get to where I am and make me bigger than this. I also put God first in all my endeavors.”, He concluded.

Musicbox is currently under the management of Century records, a Subsidiary of UGAMATV.
