waste to gas: enugu rep deputy minority leader okechukwu organizes 2 days workshop, trains constituents on bio digester

The Deputy Minority leader and member representing Aninri, Awgu and Oji-River federal constituency on Friday the 18th of December concluded a 2 day training Workshop on Bio digester at Awgu Civic Center Ugbonambo, Enugu State which was conducted by the National Biotechnology Development Agency in Conjunction with Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

This is coming days after he had organized a training on fish farming for his constituents, including payment of school fees of over 600 students, learning tour for over 60 secondary schools in his constituency and empowerment on hospitality management for 150 women and youths in his constituency.

UGAMATV recalls that Hon. Okechukwu had earlier on revealed his plans to host the workshop after he had lamented on the scarcity and high price of cooking gas, while promising to ensure his constituents learn how to make cooking gas with bio degradable in order to ease the financial stress on them.

The workshop which was tagged ‘Bio digester Training and Empowerment for Women and Youth on Biodigester System for Domestic Heating and Power Generation’ was aimed to expose the participants on the Bio digester system and equally draw their attention to it’s household benefits and economic exploits.

Speaking to UGAMATV, the lead trainer for the workshop, Mr. Lajide Oluwaseun, a research administrator and green renewable Expert revealing the reason for the workshop said “the workshop is targeted at training the Youths and Women on Biogas technology and to enlighten them on what biogas technology is all About. To show them how to produce it and equally become self reliant in bio digester system”.

At the end of the workshop, each Participants received stipends to enable them to commence with what they have learnt from the training.

Speaking to some of the participants of the workshop, Mr. Ifeanyi Ngwude told Ugamatv that it had been a wonderful experience, stating “we learnt a lot on how to use the bio digester system to generate Electricity. Am overwhelmed with joy.


“I want to thank Hon. Toby Okechukwu immensely for this great opportunity he has provided for us we thank him and our prayer is that the good Lord will continue to be with him. we are indeed very proud of him. He has done well, he concluded.
