Emeka Okoro Cares Foundation Invests ₦3 Million in Aninri Students’ Future …Over 3,000 pupils benefit from back-to-school initiative to promote education and reduce financial hardship

In a major boost to education and youth empowerment in Enugu State, the Emeka Okoro Cares Foundation has expended over ₦3 million on a comprehensive back-to-school initiative across communities in Aninri Local Government Area.

The programme, held between September 30 and October 7, 2025, provided customized exercise books, writing materials, and other essential learning tools to more than 3,000 pupils and students in primary and secondary schools within the local government area.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, the foundation’s founder, Rt. Hon. Engr. Emeka Stephen Okoro, emphasized the transformative power of education, describing it as the foundation for social progress and personal growth. He noted that the initiative was designed to ease the financial pressure on parents and to ensure that no child is left behind due to economic hardship.

“Education remains the greatest equalizer. Our investment in these young minds is an investment in the future of Aninri and Enugu State at large,” Okoro said. “We are committed to reducing dropout rates and supporting students who are academically gifted but financially constrained.”

A community leader from Aninri commended the foundation for the timely intervention, noting that it had lifted a significant burden off parents at the beginning of the school year. He added that the gesture has not only improved morale among students but also encouraged better school attendance across the communities.

The Emeka Okoro Cares Foundation, a non-governmental and non-profit organization, is dedicated to promoting education, healthcare, economic empowerment, skill acquisition, and agricultural development, with a mission rooted in compassion and community upliftment. Its motto, “We Are Here to Help Our World,” reflects the founder’s lifelong dream of building a society where everyone, regardless of background, has access to opportunities for growth.

The foundation has previously supported indigent students by paying WAEC, NECO, and JAMB fees, and has also provided medical assistance to the less privileged. Rt. Hon. Okoro appealed for broader public and private sector support, noting that the challenges in the education sector require collective effort.

“Government alone cannot meet all societal needs at once,” he said. “We call on individuals, organizations, and partners to join us in bridging the gaps and transforming lives through our subsequent projects.”

The foundation’s chairman expressed appreciation to the team members, school heads, and community stakeholders for their cooperation and prayers, reaffirming the foundation’s commitment to continuous service delivery.
