

The Former Deputy president of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu had on Tuesday commissioned the Senior Secondary school Examination empowerment to the terminal students across the Awgu, Aninri and Oji river federal Constituency.
The project is being undertaken by the Deputy Minority Leader, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu.
UGAMATV learnt that in a bid to create ease in accessibility of Educational facilities and instructional materials for every child in the constituency, Okechukwu has instituted this initiative, to further equip the SSCE candidates, in readiness for their ongoing and future terminal examinations.
In the event of unveiling, The 56 public Secondary Schools across the Constituency were given copies of a compilation of WAEC, NECO and GCE Past question papers and answers, in all subjects for the past five years, in preparation for their Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations.

The event was held in the premises of Corpus Christi College, Achi in Oji river local government area.
In his opening speech, Rt. Hon. Toby Okechukwu, said that this project was inspired out of the need to provide sufficient and relevant instructional materials for WAEC candidates, to Enable them revise adequately in preparation for their certification exams.
Since he is a major education activist, the idea, was to adequately equip the candidates for the academic task ahead, not just basically for senior secondary certificates, but for their tertiary education.
It is also a means of encouragement and support for the students, whom have chosen to be studious, since they have chosen to study, the materials needed is hence made available.

Okechukwu, who had initially, paid the WAEC fees for most of the candidates in his constituency, said that the books will be kept on the library for refrence sake and future students.
Continuing, during the unveiling, Sen. Ekweremadu, tagged the project “a serious business”, because in his words, Okechukwu is investing in the future of the students, and further enhancing their opportunities to be exposed, also to compete with others from all spheres of life.

He subsequently, unveiled the book copies and dedicated to the growt, optimal usage and development of the students.

The Chief Supervising Principal of PPSMB, Awgu zone, in an interview, expressed her overwhelming gratitude to the Lawmaker, because with the reason of this gesture, the students can embark on a thorough revision, also teachers can access adequate instructional materials to prepare the students.
The students as well, are not left out from the gratitude wagon, as the said prayers of success and blessings for their benefactor.
