21st of January was a day of mourning for the family of late Chief Mazi Daniel Nduka Offor (Agudiebube 1) as he was laid to rest in his hometown, Ugwueme in Awgu L.G.A, Enugu state.
Mazi Daniel who died on the 15th of December 2021 at the age of 63 after a brief illness was married to Dr. Mrs Oby Offor and was survived by four children and seven grand children.
In a tribute message to her late husband, Mrs Oby described the years she was married to her husband as interesting, adding “no two days were the same. You never craved anybody’s praise as long as you believed what you were doing was right even in the face of utmost negative situation and no matter whom is involved, you never relented from speaking the truth.

“God used you to raise me from grass to grace and was able to soar on wings 9 redeemer who maybe did his calculations and decided to allow this happen”, Oby said.
Emphasizing on her husband’s integrity she said “Your disdain for money was novel and sometimes funny. It mattered not a whit to you not that you have much but is your simple nature. In any generation, there can be only one like you. Your attitudes and way you react to issues are worthy of emulation.
“You were a father any child would dream of having. You were ever at their disposal, playing with them, teaching them of a bygone era, teaching them of the world they live in and giving them total security of knowing you were always present”, she said.

Senator Ike Ekweremadu while condoling with Mrs Oby and her family expressed his sadness when he received the news of her husband’s death saying “I received with profound sense of loss the news of the passing of your beloved husband, Late Mazi Nduka Daniel Offor.
“This is a grave loss not only to you and your entire family, given fond memories and union you have shared over the years, but also to us your family friends, associates and well wishers.
“I encourage you and the rest of the family to find solace in the fact that your late husband led a sterling life of service to humanity, bequeathing worthy legacies and profound goodwill that will keep his name alive in the kind gestures of history. He will be sorely missed.
“While wishing you more grace and fortitude as you grapple with this irreparable loss, please accept the assurance of my highest regards always”, he concluded.
Commiserating with the family for their painful loss, the Deputy Minority leader, Hon. Toby Okechukwu said “Death is a painful experience and even more painful when a dear one is involved.

“The death of your husband will understandably leave your family with a deep feeling of loss but be consoled in the fact that he is resting with the Lord.
“As we mourn his demise, it is my prayer that God almighty grants you and your family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and comforts you, Okechukwu said.
Hon. Johnson Chukwuobasi who also mourned with the family over the loss described Mazi Offor as a gentle man who has made his mark both in human and community development in Ugwueme and beyond.
“He was a gentleman to the core and an ideal family man who always stand strong in any course he believes in for the betterment of humanity. His legacies will remain afresh in the memories of those who had contact with him when he was alive on earth.
“Myself and on behalf of the entire Awgu South constituency, I send our sincere condolences to your family”, he concluded.
The students and fellow staff members of the schools he worked in were not left out in condoning with the family as Steve Orji from ESUT banking and finance 2017/2018 set, remembering their first encounter said, “One readily remembers how you met some of our course members one morning when we were at the formation stage and radiated such confidence that made us to unanimously make you the Course Rep which you accepted whole-heartedly.
“With the confirmed ugly news, the next hurdle was how to tell members of ESUT M.Sc. 2017/2018 set that their amiable, calm and easy going Course Rep had passed on. In all, we still thank God for the great things He helped you and your dear wife to achieve, starting from the children blessings and many others which you often recalled with high sense of fulfillment”, he said.
Prof. Austin Uche Nweze, the rector of IMT polytechnic Enugu, described the deceased as a perfect gentle man who was well admired and respected by his colleagues in the institute, adding that “Mazi Nduka exuded humility, gentleness, kindness, respect, charm and passion.
“All through his stay in IMT we never heard him downbeat or lost for. what a lose to IMT, his family and life. Mazi, a caring and beloved family man, a cherished scholar and colleague who will be missed by many, but never forgotten by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. we pray God grants his soul eternal rest”, he concluded.
