A Former Deputy President of the Senate, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu, has bemoaned the death of his younger brother, Hon. Mathias Ekweremadu.

Mathias, who was, until his passing on, the Enugu state Commisioner for transportation, had collapsed during a budget defence session at Enugu state house of Assembly on Thursday.

He was however, quickly taken to Niger Foundation Enugu, where he was confirmed dead.

The Senator had expressed his grief, in a social media post, that thus reads;

“It is difficult to come to terms with some events in our lives, but ultimately, reality dawns on us as a family. My younger brother, Hon. Mathias Ekweremadu Jr. has passed on.”

“We submit to the will of God and pray for the peaceful repose of his soul.”

“I thank the Government and good people of Enugu State, well meaning Nigerians, friends and well-wishers for the outpour of love and condolences.”

“RIP, brother.”, he concluded.
