The immediate-past Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has been summoned for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

 

 

 

Malami disclosed this in a post shared on his Facebook page on Friday, November 28. He, however, he did not disclose the reason for the invite or subject of the investigation.

 

 

 

 

Malami was the AGF and Minister of Justice from late 2015 to May, 2023, during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari and exercised supervisory powers over the EFCC for eight years.

 

 

 

Now a chieftain of the opposition African Democratic Congress (APC) and governorship aspirant in his native Kebbi State, Malami promised to honour

the invite.

 

 

He also promised to make a public disclosure of his encounter with the EFCC.

 

 

 

“This is to confirm that I have been invited by the EFCC. As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation.
