The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Seun Ogunbambo, Managing Director of Fargo Petroleum and Gas Limited, wanted for allegedly defrauding the Federal Government of ₦976,653,110.28 through false petroleum subsidy claims.
In a public notice issued on Friday, the anti-graft agency stated that Ogunbambo absconded while on bail during an ongoing trial at the Lagos State High Court and has since disappeared.
According to EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, the suspect fraudulently obtained the sum by claiming payment for petroleum products that were never supplied under the government’s fuel subsidy programme.
Ogunbambo was standing trial alongside Mamman Ali and Christian Taylor, who were both convicted and sentenced to 14 years imprisonment on May 27, 2025.
“The suspect vanished after being granted bail and has since failed to appear in court. Members of the public are urged not to shield him,” Oyewale said.
