Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested Dr. Mkor Aondona, the Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Documentation, Research, and Planning, over allegations of s₤xtortion and cyberbullying.
Dr. Aondona was taken into custody on Friday, June 20, following multiple petitions filed by female students who accused him of sexual exploitation.
According to the complaints, the students claimed Dr. Aondona abused his office by selectively recruiting “slim and attractive” young women for ushering roles—positions they believed were legitimate—only to later demand sexual favours as a condition for their selection.
Worse still, the victims allege that the acts were secretly recorded without their consent and used as tools for blackmail. “He would say, ‘If you refuse, I’ll leak the videos,’” one of the complainants told EFCC investigators.
Some of these explicit recordings, the victims further claim, have already been shared across messaging platforms, raising serious concerns about their privacy and personal safety.
Confirming the arrest, a spokesperson for the EFCC stated:
“We take allegations of sextortion very seriously and will ensure that justice is served.”
Dr. Aondona remains in EFCC custody and will be formally charged in court upon conclusion of investigations.
