
Ofe Nsala (White Soup) is a soup very known soup in the Eastern Part part of Nigeria. It is also known as ”white soup” nsala soup because it is white.
The soup is normally prepared with Catfish and Chicken
Ingredients…
Catfish
Yam Powder or raw yam cubes(Already peeled )
Grinded Crayfish
Sliced Utazi Leaves/uziza (optional
Dry /Smoked Fish
yellow pepper
chopped onions
Stock/Seasoning cubes(maggi, knorr etc)
Salt
Directions
Step 1
Wash the Catfish, Dry fish and smoked fish ,keep it aside .After that you cook the Cat fish with the dried fish,add onions,salt and seasoning cube. Cook till it’s ready.

Step 2
Boil the already peeled yam till it’s soft ,after that you puns with a mortar and pestle till smooth. But in a case where you don’t have yam but Yam powder. Boil some hot water then add to it and stair ,till it turns to a smooth paste.
Step 3
Now you should add the yam paste bit by bit and allow the soup to boil till the paste has melted in the soup and the Fish is well cooked. Now you can add the Crayfish,smoked fish and Pepper.
Step 4
Lastly, put in your uziza/uzitazi leaves, Allow to cook for 10 mins.
Step 5
Your food ready .You can serve with any swallow of your choice.
