Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians of his administration’s commitment to addressing insecurity and stabilising the economy in his Easter message delivered on Friday.
The president felicitated with citizens both at home and in the diaspora, describing Easter as a season that symbolises sacrifice, resilience, and the triumph of light over darkness.
Tinubu noted that the significance of Easter reflects Nigeria’s current situation, as the nation continues to grapple with economic difficulties and persistent security concerns.
According to him, the season serves as a reminder of the need for determination and hope in the face of challenges.
He commended members of the armed forces for their dedication and sacrifices in safeguarding the country, acknowledging their efforts in confronting threats to national security.
The president admitted that despite ongoing interventions, security challenges remain, but assured Nigerians that his government is intensifying efforts by deploying more resources and strengthening partnerships to combat terrorism and banditry.
Tinubu also revealed that his administration is enhancing international cooperation to boost Nigeria’s capacity in tackling insecurity.
Reflecting on his recent visit to Plateau State, the president said he commiserated with victims of violence and reaffirmed the government’s resolve to restore lasting peace in the region.
He expressed optimism that ongoing security operations are beginning to yield positive results, citing assurances from security chiefs.
Tinubu urged Nigerians to support lawful initiatives, promote unity, and work collectively towards national progress, stressing that peace remains essential for sustainable development.
He further called on citizens to reject actions and forces that threaten the country’s stability and to embrace the spirit of togetherness.
On the economy, the president stated that current reforms, though challenging, are necessary to secure long-term prosperity for all Nigerians.
He emphasised that meaningful national transformation often requires sacrifice, expressing confidence that the country will emerge stronger through resilience and shared commitment.
