Canadian rapper and singer Drake has lost a $1.5 million bet after Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
Drake had backed Argentina to win the tournament, placing the wager through betting platform Stake in hopes of receiving a $5.1 million payout.
The loss has once again fueled discussions about the so-called “Drake Curse”—a popular internet theory that teams and athletes publicly supported by the music star often end up losing.
Earlier this year, Drake also lost a high-profile bet after backing former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor, who was defeated by Max Holloway.
The latest defeat adds to Drake’s growing list of unsuccessful sports bets, with fans continuing to track his betting history through a website dedicated to the viral “Drake Curse.”
