Democracy Day: Awgu Council Chairman Commends Governor Mbah’s Transformative Leadership, Says He’s transforming Enugu into the state of our dreams.”

The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uche Okolo, paid tribute to the heroes of democracy who have empowered the citizens with right to choose their leaders. The message, which resonated with the spirit of the day, highlighted the importance of democratic values and the progress made under the leadership of Governor Petter Mbah.

Hon. Okolo praised Governor Mbah for his exemplary performance in office over the past two years, noting that his administration has become a beacon of hope and transformation for the people of Enugu State. “Governor Petter Mbah has lived up to the expectations of Ndi Enugu, giving democracy a true meaning in our state and embodying the principles of democracy in action,” he stated. “His achievements across various sectors are a testament to the dividends of democracy, transforming Enugu into the state of our dreams.”

Under Governor Mbah’s leadership, Enugu State has witnessed significant advancements in education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, economic growth, social welfare, security, and tourism development..

Hon. Okolo emphasized the enabling environment created by Governor Mbah, which has allowed local governments to effectively execute their responsibilities. “We are complementing the efforts of our dear Governor in all sectors,” he noted, citing the successful installation of over 14 solar boreholes as part of the “Awgu Water for All” initiative, aimed at providing accessible clean water to communities.

The establishment of access roads to smart green schools, facilitating better access to quality education for students in Awgu.

Development of Awgu Farm Estates, including the construction of access roads, perimeter fencing, and security houses, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring food security.

As Awgu LGA commemorates Democracy Day, Hon. Okolo called on the people to reflect on the significance of their democratic rights and the ongoing journey toward strengthening democracy. “This day serves as a reminder of our purpose as elected representatives and the commitment we have to continue delivering on the promises of democracy to our people,” he concluded.

The celebration of Democracy Day in Awgu LGA not only honors the past but also inspires a collective effort toward a brighter future for all citizens.
